Sellers Description

Up for sale is a stunning, fully operational, beautifully restored 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000D Z1R. This machine was a very nice bike when first purchased, just not perfect. That's when it was completely dismantled and the hunt for proper parts began. After three years the ending result is a extremely nice Z1R that has gone through a very complete and proper restoration. Attention to detail, originality and performance were my top priorities. Some of the examples are: Proper fasteners where used throughout the engine, chassis and wherever else needed. The factory VIN sticker was saved and reinstalled after the frame, engine mounts, battery box and all other needed components were properly blasted and powder coated to the correct Kawasaki color. The Stardust Metallic Silver paint is perfect in color and application. Nothing was missed, overlooked nor were any shortcuts taken in the restoration. The only parts that are not correct for this era. are the Hagen shocks, due to the original shocks not being located. The original, unrestored shocks will be included in the sale as they did not come out the way that I'd hoped. The shocks on the bike were special built by Hagen to factory specifications length, size, height, spring diameter and color to fit as closely to original as possible. I have 100's of pictures and stacks of receipts to back-up the complete process.
